I made and rosemaled this clock. | In 1974, I enrolled in a rosemaling class offered through adult education classes. It was there that I fell in love with the beautiful scrolls and flowers so prevalent in rosemaling. Later, I traveled to the Norwegian American Museum in Decorah, Iowa and took rosemaling classes from two noted rosemalers, Sigmund Aarseth and Karen Jensen. I began teaching rosemaling classes through adult education classes in the late 1970's.
In 1992 I received a two-year art degree from Northland Community College. Since then, I have been an artist in residence at four local schools for fourteen years.
Today, I continue to rosemal and teach. I also have an interest in woodworking and Swedish folk painting in the Dala style. Most of the items I paint I have also made in my workshop. Each project is a challenge and a joy to paint.
